Priten qualified as a podiatrist in 2001. He has worked for the NHS, private practice, and in higher education.
Priten currently combines his role as a Clinical Skills tutor with working in Private Practice. Priten has taught and practiced Podiatry in Cardiff and Australia bringing through the next generation of Healthcare Practitioners. He is a member of the College of Podiatry, HCPC Registered (CH15115) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has completed post-graduate studies in foot and ankle surgery, education, lower limb function and biomechanics.
Priten has a deep understanding and knowledge on how the lower limb functions in walking and a range of sporting activities. Using his knowledge to treat conditions from the feet to the lower back, Priten has worked with several sporting teams and has developed a special interest in pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain.
Using various technologies such as pressure/force platforms and 2D and 3D motion analysis software, Priten has supported his clinical practice and used these for research purposes advising on the appropriate use and data analysis.
As well as clinical biomechanics, has had also been involved in diabetic assessment wound management, and injection therapies (steroids and viscosupplementation).
Away from Agile Therapy, Priten teaches healthcare professionals at Cardiff University and is a panel member for the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC, regulator of allied health professionals). He is also a keen cricketer and plays for Creigiau as Vice-Captain of the 2nd XI.
