Julia Malik

Julia Malik, comes to Agile Therapy with over 12 years’ experience as a Chartered Physiotherapist.

Graduating from the University of Wales College of Medicine with First Class Honours in 2004 paving the way for a most illustrious professional career.

After graduating, Julia went on to work as the lead clinician for a Welsh Premiership Rugby Club, taught Clinical Pilates at a busy private practice and delivered strength & conditioning Pilates for a local sports club. Alongside these roles, she also worked for the NHS as a Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist.

Over the last 12 years, Julia has developed special interest and skills regarding sports injury rehabilitation, neck & shoulder complaints, neural dynamics/impingement, pregnancy related problems and chronic pain management.

Julia has a meticulous approach to her assessments, ensuring that nothing is overlooked and her clients receive the best possible advice and treatment. Where possible, Julia will enable people to help themselves, so that they recover in as little time as possible, for the fewest necessary appointments.

Julia is passionate about Pilates. In 2008 she completed her Pilates training with The Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI). Since then she has trained in Ante & Post Natal Pilates and Pilates & Neurology. She loves teaching Pilates and can do this 1:1, in a small group or to a larger class.

The APPI method of Pilates is regulated by a code of conduct and all instructors must pass theoretical and practical examination. Class size is restricted to ensure clients receive the individual attention they need. Julia firmly believes that Clinical Pilates can help people recover from & stay injury free, enhance athletic performance, improve spinal function and manage long term health complaints.

Julia can also perform acupuncture as part of her Physiotherapy treatment and is registered with the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. She is also qualified in Kinesio Taping, a skill she uses frequently for her volleyball team mates!

Aside from her life as a Physiotherapist, Julia is a mum to two young children, a member and coach of the Cardiff Triathletes and plays regularly for the Cardiff Volleyball Club. She has represented her age group for Great Britain at the European Triathlon and World Triathlon Championships on several occasions.

With such a breadth of experience, thorough approach and variety of skills, Julia is the Physiotherapist for you. Book an appointment now or contact the clinic if you are interested in Clinical Pilates.
