For those fans of international Australian Rules Football, August 2014 has been a landmark date for the last three years since the last International Cup held in 2011.

If you are less familiar with Australian Rules Football however, what you need to know is that it’s the biggest sport in Australia and is one of the worlds most supported domestic league in the world with the AFL grand final attracting crowds of over 100,000 spectators beating 2014’s Super Bowl attendance by around 20,000 spectators.

What many people don’t understand nevertheless is that Australian Rules Football has a strong following in Britain with active leagues in Wales, England and Scotland with the British national team currently ranking 11th in the world. Here at Agile Therapy we are proud to say that our Director and Head Physiotherapist David Saunders has been selected in Great Britain squad known as the Bulldogs to compete in the home of Australian Rules Football, Melbourne. Selection for David is a result of three years hard work and dedication to South Wales Panthers over the last three years. Despite overcoming of selection process David and the team have a further hurdle to overcome of a financial nature. Due to Australian Rules Football being a completely amateur sport within Britain all players must do their part in raising money to cover all equipment and ensure that the team has everything they need to achieve real success in Melbourne.
